Benchmarks provide a reference point to compare your client’s portfolio performance. You can use well-known indexes (like the S&P 500 Total Return or MSCI Emerging Markets) or create a custom blended benchmark that mirrors your client's asset allocation.
Steps to Create a Benchmark
From the dashboard, navigate to Firm Settings and click on the Benchmarks section. Click on Manage.
In the top-left corner, click the Create button to start building a new benchmark.
Under Add Index, begin typing the name of an index or fund (e.g., S&P 500 Total Return). Select the desired index from the list.
Assign a weight percentage to the selected index.
For a single-index benchmark, set the weight to 100%.
For a blended benchmark, continue adding indexes and assign weights that total 100%.
Enter a custom name to help you identify the benchmark (e.g., 60/40 Balanced Benchmark).
Click Create Benchmark to store your benchmark. You can now assign it to accounts for performance comparisons.
Editing, Cloning or Deleting a Benchmark
To edit, Go to Firm Settings -> Benchmarks -> Manage open the benchmark and adjust the index composition or weights.
To clone, Go to Firm Settings -> Benchmarks -> Manage open the benchmark and clone it. This will create an exact replica of the Benchmark so you can customize the composition or weights.
To delete, select the benchmark from the list and choose Delete.
Benchmark Types
Single Index Benchmark: Tracks the performance of one index (e.g., 100% S&P 500).
Blended Benchmark: Combines multiple indexes to better match the portfolio’s composition
(e.g., 60% S&P 500, 40% Barclays US Aggregate Bond Index)
Notes
We include by default ~200 commonly used indexes by default.
Tens of thousands of indexes are available upon request.
Benchmarks can be assigned at both the Account and Household level.
